A lot of stress, a lot of work, but it was insane! Simply !
Last Friday marked the second edition of our event WEBISLAND.
An event we created more than a year ago (Webmecanik Pipeline X Khosi), dedicated to digital marketing in Nantes.
An event we’d envisioned around a drink back in 2018, and that brought together more than a hundred people for its first edition, without knowing whether we’d be able to grow it and integrate it into the Nantes landscape.
And yet I’m proud to say YES, we did it—not without difficulty—but this Friday, April 26, 2019, we did it!
You were more than 350 to place your trust in us this year and join us at the Nantes Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) for this second edition.
A venue fully decorated in jungle mode, where a warm, sharing atmosphere prevailed.
Here’s a little recap of this event.
Webisland is an event split into two conference cycles, a acquisition cycle and a transformation cycle.
The goal of Webisland is to offer our participants practical conferences filled with tips and advice that can be applied as soon as Monday back at the office.
So we avoid scheduling conferences that are too theoretical.
Summary of the acquisition cycle:
We had a total of 6 conferences for this cycle with no fewer than 11 speakers.
A variety of topics were covered, such as: the real value of editorial content, ethical digital, how to succeed with SEO services, feedback from Kids Around, and log analysis performed by Oncrawl (event sponsor) and Mediaveille.
List of conferences:
Restoring value to editorial content by Syphaïwong BAY.
For sustainable, ethical, inclusive and equitable digital by Rémy MARRONE.
How to succeed with an SEO service (On & Off)? by Julien JIMENEZ, Sylvain DELAPORTE.
How Kids around combines growth and profitability via search?
By Kids around / Search Foresight.
Win over the heart of Google with log analysis by Nicolas DUVERNEUIL and Leïla ELAMRI.
SEO: The keys to relevance today… and tomorrow? by Mathieu GHEERBRANT.
Summary of the transformation cycle:
The transformation cycle also featured 6 conferences with 7 speakers.
A cycle quite focused on transformation thanks to UX, notably through conferences by Olivier SAUVAGE and Carole LAIMAY. We also discussed customer reviews, influencer marketing strategy, and marketing automation.
A cycle held in the second Webisland room: a fully circular room with a microphone for each participant, allowing for great exchanges between the audience and our speakers.
List of conferences in the transformation cycle:
Improving your conversion on mobile—it’s easy! The secrets of an UX expert by Olivier SAUVAGE.
Why can call tracking help you gain 25% more opportunities? by Erwan GUSTAVE and Alexandre JACQ.
Marketing automation, beyond the buzzword—a concrete method to sell better! by Pierre Ammeloot.
Attract more customers with better reviews by Thomas MATHIEU.
How “Creative content” & “Influence” shape your customer journey by Ulrich Christian ADELAÏDE.
Clarify your positioning and save time thanks to UX design by Carole LAIMAY.
The event ended with a short talk by Francky TRICHET, who came to speak to us about Nantes’ digital scene and the induction of Nantes as a tech capital in France.
We were finally able to all get together over a drink at the Webisland afterparty, which took place this year at the Terrace of the island in a totally jungle setting.
I would like to personally thank all the participants for coming to this WEBISLAND 2019.
You made us dream! And we hope to see you many again next year.
A huge thank you to our 20 speakers for your presence and for your high-quality conferences (special mention to Rémy MARRONE, who agreed to join us at the very last minute!).
