Today I work in web…

Originally from a small village in the Bargy range, I am a snowboard enthusiast. I should logically have ended up as a ski patroller at a resort, the job all little girls dream of in Haute-Savoie. But that ambition quickly crashed against the relentless cliffs of the harsh reality of life: in the end, I studied web marketing. These days, I surf the web more often than the snowy slopes of my native Yaute. From there to jumping feet first into the wonderful world of web agencies, there was only one step… which I took one fine morning in April 2014.

And so I left my mountain to conquer the World Wide Web.

Having just arrived in the capital (Annecy), I discovered the world of the web: screens pretty much everywhere, 2 to 4 per desk and on the walls with streams of numbers straight out of The Matrix. A dark corner with growling creatures; they have long hair and pale complexions, and it is not advisable to get too close to them: they are Geeks. Legend has it that they live in dark basements and never sleep.
My colleagues are weird too, they talk to me about #conversions, #NDD, #BigPictures… my #CEO asks me to take the #lead on the current #SEA campaigns, while staying #focus on the project management of #ContentMarketing.

EVERYONE speaks #frenglish using technical terms, which greatly impresses our clients who, not understanding us, clearly consider us experts, even geniuses.

Heïdi in the middle of Star Wars!

I quickly understood that if I wanted to be able to communicate with my colleagues, I had to take the same treatment or go train with Master Yoda, the wise one.
And so, in a completely informal way, intensive training began on Monday lunchtimes, the main objective being for me to be able to show off in front of my clients by explaining their web #KPI with the right kind of #storytelling!

Technical term – English word – Concept – Features – Paperboards covered with diagrams.

I learned the lines from The Lord of the Rings by heart, I took part in kick-offs, sales meetings and webinars. It was a transcendent battle all the way to my metamorphosis into a Jedi of the web.

Now, I think I’m thoroughly infected!

I put #hashtags everywhere, my friends no longer understand me. I can give you a whole speech about Marketing Automation without using a single French word, with plenty of #Scoring, #Nurturing & #Retargeting.
So, to keep learning new words and concepts and to practice our #frenglish, we decided to formalize this moment and open it up to everyone for even more sharing and enrichment.

It’s every Monday @Eureosbar during #lunch: it’s the Lundeek!

That’s how curiosity leads us to create.

See you next Monday!
