6/7 timeless marketing strategies: social media

If you have not yet implemented a digital marketing strategy for your business, then you are missing out on a great many opportunities.

It is true that “online” marketing can seem intimidating and complicated. This can discourage even the most determined entrepreneurs from implementing an online marketing plan. The purpose of this article is therefore to examine online marketing and bring it back to its fundamentals. To do this, we created a series of articles to break down long-term strategies, so as not to get lost in tips that may not last long.

Social Media

Social media has become a well-known marketing strategy. But there is often a misunderstanding about social media that consists in thinking that the whole challenge lies in gaining visibility with your existing audience. This is not always true.

Of course, social media is an effective way to communicate with your existing audience, but visibility and communication are not enough to grow your business. You need people to share what you offer them with their friends (and friends of friends, and friends of friends, etc.)!

But how do you get your followers to share your products, your brand, with their own followers? Content! Very high-quality content.

Here are 2 social media tactics:

1. Choose the right channel

Don’t advertise on Pinterest if your goal is to try to reach a male audience over 40. Why? Because Pinterest is used more by women.

Before committing to a social media marketing strategy, take the time to analyze the different channels and choose the one that suits you best: the one where your target audience is.

2. Listening to internet users through social media (or social listening)

You may not think of social media as a customer service tool, but it can prove to be very effective. By managing your reputation through an active presence on social media, you can protect your business from negative or uncontrolled press, or improve your brand’s positive image.
