Comparison of Webmecanik Automation and Plezi marketing automation solutions

Using a marketing automation solution is now essential to your inbound marketing strategy, but choosing a tool can prove to be time-consuming and complex, given how long the list of software on this fast-growing market is, as well as the features offered by each editor—something you can see in our benchmark.

Because every need is unique, we have created a comparison of the two leading French solutions on a market with an American tendency, to help you choose the right made-in-France marketing automation software for your business.

Two stories, but similar motivations

Plezi

Looking for a solution tailored to their needs in a complex market, Charles Dolisy and Renaud de Lacotte decided to venture into software publishing. That’s how, in 2015, Plezi was born under the sunny skies of Marseille.
Today, the team based in Paris supports 200 companies and 25 agencies in the B2B market for lead generation.

Webmecanik

Eureos—if that name rings a bell, know that this is what Webmecanik was called until 2015. A web agency in the Annecy region, led by Stéphane Couleaud and seeking solutions tailored to the needs of their clients, decided to make the shift to software publishing through open source. That’s how, in September 2015, Eureos became Webmecanik.
Today, the team based in Annecy, Lyon and Paris supports 350 companies and 70 agency partners across B2B and B2C markets.

Two software platforms, different features

While these two SaaS solutions were born from a similar need in a market offering complex marketing automation software, their features are nonetheless different.

Data hosting?

OVH Boulogne Billancourt

It’s no surprise that both of our tools comply with GDPR and apply it for the comfort of their customers. However, hosting with Google Cloud is a weak point for Plezi because it does not guarantee 100% European hosting.

The heart of the software: Campaigns

Automated scenarios based on behavioral tracking (Opens, page visits, etc.)

Automated scenarios based on form submissions

Automated scenarios based on segmentation

By offering workflow trees (automated campaign scenarios), Webmecanik enables the development of complete, personalized scenarios by covering all available channels, scoring, and CRM reporting—from lead qualification to lead nurturing and upsell.
In comparison, Plezi, by allowing you to set up smart scenarios, helps you quickly promote your content through simple, predefined campaigns that let you quickly score your prospects’ engagement.

General comparison: Two different approaches, suited to everyone

To wrap up this article, here’s a summary of the advantages and disadvantages of our two editors:

Webmecanik:
Pros: We like the complete, customizable campaigns thanks to the many actions available and dynamic behavior depending on contact activity. The ability to integrate positive or negative lead scoring based on your visitors’ actions. The many available integrations, including several partnerships with French CRMs. Usable in both B2B and B2C. 100% French hosting
Cons: The email builder is improvable and is currently being revamped. Social media publishing is available only on Twitter.

With a price among the most competitive and constant ongoing improvements, Webmecanik is today positioned as the European leader in marketing automation based on the open-source Mautic code. Thanks to the responsiveness of its support and dedicated onboarding for each customer, it is now established as a complete alternative to the largest American software solutions.

Entry price for 10,000 contacts: €400/month

Plezi:
Pros: Unanimously, the smart campaigns that allow users to set up simple and effective nurturing scenarios. Multi-account social media management to quickly promote your content strategy. The support chat available within the tool are the strengths of this interactive interface.
Cons: The inability to customize your workflows because very few actions are available outside of email, which is a weakness for us of this editor, as it doesn’t offer other channels. Hosting with Google Cloud remains controversial.

Plezi will allow you to easily manage and promote your content strategy. However, it’s important to have content to get started with this software, which is suited to B2B companies that are beginning to implement automation.

Entry price for 10,000 contacts: €760/month
