I wish you all a very happy 2016.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your investment in Webmecanik’s future and to review 2015 with you, and especially 2016.
Regarding 2015 and pending the accounting figures, we are apparently ending the year with €560k invoiced and a positive net result. This is well below our target of €610k invoiced, and corresponds to two new clients who were unable to place orders with us in the 2015 fiscal year for budget reasons, but whose signature is expected by January 15.
The lesson we are drawing from this is that we are going to be extremely rigorous with the “pipeline” by anticipating our investments in the right place (prospecting, follow-up and closing) at the right time.
The very good news of 2015: how far we’ve come
- January: transformation of our web marketing agency business and implementation of the software publisher business model + subscriptions
- June: development of our own Automation software in Open Source based on the Mautic code
- September: first clients on Automation
- October: Eureos becomes Webmecanik, presentation of the new website for the Webmecanik identity
- November: fundraising of €300k + €300k from BPI to come in Q1 2016
- December: Revenue>€500k, 15+ partner agencies, 60+ user accounts on our software platform, 20+ articles published in the press
2016 is a year of strong acceleration
Thanks to you, we will be able to accelerate in 2016 to reach our ambitious and realistic objectives: 200 client agencies and €1 million in revenue.
We are starting the first week of January with €47k in signed contracts and 1 new agency in the first week, with a target of €100k and 4 new agencies in January.
Internationally
- Prospecting in the UK has started with a team of 3 students who are setting up meetings for us. A roadshow is planned in February.
- In addition, we are negotiating our first distribution partnership with a software publisher that will integrate Automation into its offering.
- Prospecting starts in Germany in February with a target of 40 meetings, the SMX trade show in March with a first sales tour, and Jonas moving to Berlin in May.
- We are invited to 1 week of presentations/networking in Quebec in April (thanks to Digital Savoie and the Rhône-Alpes region)
- We are in negotiations for an integration with a software partner in Spain to be distributed there
- We are evaluating the potential of the Italian market
In terms of presence and marketing activity
We are going to strengthen them this year. Already on the agenda:
- Launch of the “Agency” White Paper at the end of January with 1min30,
- Meetup at Deloitte on January 28,
- Web2Business Paris on February 28,
- Ecom Geneva on April 26&27,
- SMX Berlin (March),
- SMX Paris (June),
- And above all our first partner Keynote in March: announced at the end of January!
- Finally, we are going to significantly expand our content production: videos, articles, landing pages, tutorials, knowledge management base, press articles and seminars.
In terms of software development activity
- We are launching the myWebmecanik portal at the end of January to allow our agency clients to manage their accounts and activities in a dedicated space
- The product roadmap will be open there and updated every week, and all our clients will be able to proactively make suggestions
- We are going to work heavily on integration with the CRM/ERP ecosystem and bring new features such as the “video builder” or the “online contests builder”, which are content activities highly requested by agencies, just like social media and email marketing
- We also have a lot of requests for OEM integrations with CRM players or content platform providers, which will allow us to strengthen the niche markets in which we will develop our expertise
Finally, for January I would like to announce our first Board Meeting. I am counting a lot on you to support us and challenge us across all your areas of expertise and experience. This is already the case, and I thank you for it.
I will continue to provide you with occasional updates on events that I would like to share with you, and quarterly meetings on our activity following our board meetings.
