Looking back at WEBISLAND 2019

A lot of stress, a lot of work, but it was crazy! Quite simply!

Last Friday was the second edition of our event WEBISLAND.

An event that we created more than a year ago now (Webmecanik Pipeline X Khosi), dedicated to digital marketing in Nantes.

An event that we imagined over a drink in 2018 and that brought together more than a hundred people for its first edition, without knowing whether we would be able to help it grow and integrate it into the Nantes landscape.
And yet I am proud to say that YES, we did it. Not without difficulty, but on this Friday, April 26, 2019, we did it!

More than 350 of you trusted us this year and joined us at the CCI in Nantes for this second edition.
A venue entirely decorated in a jungle theme for the occasion, where a friendly atmosphere of sharing prevailed.

Here is a quick look back at this event.

Webisland is an event divided into two conference tracks, an acquisition track and a transformation track.
The goal of Webisland is to offer our participants practical conferences filled with tips and advice that can be applied as soon as Monday back at the office.
We therefore avoid scheduling conferences that are too theoretical.

Summary of the acquisition track:

We had a total of 6 conferences for this track with no fewer than 11 speakers.
Different topics were covered such as: the real value of editorial content, ethical digital practices, what makes an SEO service successful, feedback from Kids Around, as well as log analysis carried out by Oncrawl (event sponsor) and Mediaveille.

List of conferences:

Restoring value to editorial content by Syphaïwong BAY.

For sustainable, ethical, inclusive, and gender-balanced digital practices by Rémy MARRONE.

How to succeed with an SEO service (On and Off)? by Julien JIMENEZ, Sylvain DELAPORTE.

How does Kids Around combine growth and profitability through search?

By Kids Around / Search Foresight.

Win Google’s heart through log analysis by Nicolas DUVERNEUIL and Leïla ELAMRI.

SEO: The keys to relevance today… and tomorrow? by Mathieu GHEERBRANT.

Summary of the transformation track:

The transformation track also included 6 conferences with 7 speakers.

A track strongly focused on transformation through UX, notably through conferences by Olivier SAUVAGE and Carole LAIMAY. We were also able to talk about customer reviews, influencer marketing strategy, and marketing automation.
A track that took place in Webisland’s second room, a fully circular room with one microphone per participant, which allowed for great exchanges between the audience and our speakers.

List of conferences in the transformation track:

Improving your mobile conversion rate is easy! The secrets of a UX expert by Olivier SAUVAGE.

Why can call tracking help you gain 25% more opportunities? by Erwan GUSTAVE and Alexandre JACQ.

Marketing automation: behind the buzzword, a practical method to sell better! by Pierre Ammeloot.

Attract more customers with better reviews by Thomas MATHIEU.

How “Creative content” & “Influence” shape your customer journey by Ulrich Christian ADELAÏDE.

Clarify your positioning and save time thanks to UX design by Carole LAIMAY.

The event ended with a short talk by Francky TRICHET, who came to talk to us about the Nantes digital ecosystem and Nantes being named the tech capital of France.

We were finally all able to gather around a drink at the Webisland afterparty, which took place this year at the Terrasse de l’île in a totally jungle-themed setting.

I would personally like to thank all the participants for coming to WEBISLAND 2019.
You made us dream! And we hope to see many of you again next year.

A huge thank you to our 20 speakers for being there and for your high-quality talks (special mention to Rémy MARRONE who agreed to join us at the very last minute!).

Thanks also to all our sponsors for trusting us and without whom this event could not have taken place:
Soumettre.fr, Oncrawl, Monitorank, O2Switch, Oncrawl, WIS, Business to Web, Caméléon Formation, Expire SEO, LBA Walter France, Niwanet, Search Foresight, 1kubator, Com&Médias, Crédit Mutuel, Dareboost, Digimood, Eni, Nantes Métropole, Pepper Click, SEO Camp, Wriiters.

And of course, a huge thank you to all the other members of the WEBISLAND team with whom I am lucky enough to share this adventure!
