Interview: find out why Webmecanik is acquiring CRM software vendor GRC Contact
Webmecanik, the leading French marketing automation software vendor, is continuing its acquisition-led growth strategy with the purchase of a new company: GRC Contact. With several hundred customers, this company based in Aix-en-Provence has been offering CRM software to businesses since 2010.
After the acquisition of Launchr at the beginning of 2022, Stéphane Couleaud, President of Webmecanik officially announced on August 2 the acquisition of GRC Contact from Rémi Donneger. He explains the background to this acquisition:
How and why did you approach the software company GRC Contact?
I responded to a company sale listing posted by Rémi Donneger, who was heading GRC Contact. I was looking for CRM software companies to acquire in order to accelerate the growth of our CRM business, Webmecanik Pipeline. For me, it was interesting to take over an installed base of CRM users. Thanks to this acquisition, which took place on August 2, we are benefiting from new expertise, new users, and faster development of Webmecanik Pipeline.
Will this acquisition affect GRC Contact users?
Yes. And it is good news because it will give users a solution with a broader functional scope, with access to a solution that integrates sales and marketing. They will finally be able to run marketing automation and email campaigns, in addition to what they had with GRC Contact. The solutions we offer are more modern, ranging from marketing automation to high-performance, easy-to-use CRM software.
I would like to point out that before this acquisition, six GRC customers were contacted by Webmecanik. They were enthusiastic about this change and said they appreciated the human and positive approach of the GRC Contact team, and were very happy to see new momentum for their software.
What is your medium- and long-term vision for Webmecanik after this transaction?
We hope to successfully carry out other external growth operations in Europe and acquire other companies. The goal is to become the European benchmark for SaaS and marketing solutions, in the fields of marketing automation and CRM, as an alternative to the American giants.
In conclusion, Stéphane Couleaud adds: ”This self-financed transaction by Webmecanik confirms our SaaS positioning, with subscriptions to our software representing 90% of our revenue.”
Good news for Webmecanik users and all European companies looking for ever more integrated solutions that make their daily work easier.
