Good sales management relies on an up-to-date and well-organized database, which then enables you to set up effective marketing automation campaigns to nurture your prospects and customers..
When we talk about lead generation, at Webmecanik we think inbound marketing and marketing automation. However, in marketing, it is advisable to multiply your lead sources. With tools like Derrick App, a tool developed by the prospecting agency deux.io, you can scrape/import profiles and companies from LinkedIn Sales Navigator (the paid version of LinkedIn), enrich them, clean them, and even find their emails, opening a new door for your high-quality prospecting operations.
Finding data A (for example: email) from data B (for example: first and last name) can be very confusing if you do not know how to go about it. What if I told you that you could find this information automatically and for free?
In this blog post, I am going to show you 5 use cases for finding data you do not have from data you do have.
To start enriching data for free, you will need 2 tools:
- Derrick App
Why use scraping via LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is the largest professional database in the world. There are few other platforms capable of having such precise information in the professional world.
A scraping tool for LinkedIn can be useful for extracting fresh data from LinkedIn profiles or company pages.
This can be useful in various contexts such as searching for candidates for a position, collecting data for market research, or analyzing the skills and experience of professionals in a business sector.
With such a tool, you can automate the data extraction process, which can save you time and energy. You can also collect data from multiple profiles at the same time, allowing you to quickly have a large amount of data for your analysis, prospecting, or recruitment.
You can also target the data you want to extract according to your needs and objectives. For example, you can extract information on skills, professional experience, schools, and universities attended.. This gives you precise and targeted data!
There are many tools for scraping LinkedIn, but only one is free and very easy to use: Derrick App.
Let us start by installing it together 🙂

Use Case 1: Find a LinkedIn profile URL from a first and last name
Do you need to find your prospects’ LinkedIn URL to enrich your CRM, build your contact list, or for recruitment issues? Derrick will help you do it effortlessly and for free.
- Select “search profil”.
- Once Derrick is open, choose the header of the column corresponding to the “fullname” column.
- Launch Derrick.
That is it.
An option is even available for greater efficiency. You can add the column “Company name” to your search. To do this, click on Add a company column, then select a column header corresponding to a list of company names from the drop-down menu. And just like that, Derrick takes care of the rest.
Use Case 2: Find a lead’s email from their LinkedIn URL
Second case. You found a lead’s LinkedIn profile. But they are not replying to your LinkedIn message OR you want to contact them directly by email. Problem: you do not have their address… We will show you how to do it!
- Select enrich profil and choose the column with your leads’ LinkedIn URL.
- Launch Derrick
- With the retrieved data, now run an enrich companies
Once the enrichment is complete, you end up with a lot of data on your prospects. But let us not forget what we are looking for: email!
For that, use the “Search Email” function. In the first drop-down menu, select the header of the column corresponding to your Fullname list. In the second drop-down menu, select the list corresponding to the company names associated with the fullname (selected previously).
Click on “Search” and let Derrick work its magic!
Use Case 3: Find a lead’s gender from their full name!
Third case, how do you find a person’s gender to, for example, improve your prospecting messages?
You are starting to get it 😉
- Open Derrick
- Run a find gender with your column that contains the full name.
Done.
Use Case 4: Find a company’s creation date from its name!
If you sell gift boxes, for example, understanding a company’s “birth” date can be extremely important for your prospecting 🙂
Here is how to do it:
- Open Derrick
- Select “Search Company LinkedIn Page”
- Choose the column with the company name
You now have much more information about your company, but above all you have its LinkedIn URL!
From there, you will be able to go further and find its creation date. To do this, select the column corresponding to the company’s LinkedIn URL, then click on “Enrich”.
Derrick will give you the company’s creation date!
Use Case 5: Find a company’s industry from its name!
In prospecting, we generally like to segment our databases by industry, or even beyond that. This makes it possible to target precise rather than generic needs.
Still using your Derrick tool, open your drop-down menu and select the column corresponding to your list of company names. Click on Search and wait.
You now have much more data on your company. But still not its industry ! To do this, select the “Enrich profiles” feature. In your menu, select the column corresponding to a LinkedIn company URL. Press “Enrich”. Now you have more information, including the company’s industry!
If you have other use cases, feel free to play around with Derrick, the possibilities are (almost) endless!
Thanks to these five Derrick-powered case studies, you now know how to enrich your Webmecanik Pipeline CRM and kick off powerful campaigns with Webmecanik Automation! It is your move!
