Can marketing automation software be GDPR-compliant?

Be careful, this will depend on three important points.

First, make sure that the solution itself complies with the GDPR; this is not the case for all software vendors. You are required to choose a provider that complies with the GDPR if you want to comply with it yourself.
Next, the software must provide you with all the features needed to comply with the GDPR (anonymization of personal data, the right to be forgotten, etc.). If certain technical rules are not respected, it is lost from the start.

Unsubscription and preference center

When your contacts receive your communications, they can personalize their contact preferences. Contacts can both unsubscribe only from certain mailing lists and add themselves to others, or completely unsubscribe from all communications. 
Using segmentation, you can easily find all your opt-out contacts and either keep them in your database or delete them after X amount of time if you wish via automated scenarios.

Anonymization of personal data

With Webmecanik Automation, data can be anonymous. If internet users do not accept cookies, then they will not be tracked and their IP addresses will be anonymized.

Data deletion

Data from inactive contacts is automatically deleted after 1 year (for anonymous contacts) and 3 years (for contacts with an email address).
Scenarios can also be created to delete data at certain stages.
Your contacts can also ask you for the information you hold about them, and you will be able to provide it to them very easily and with full transparency.
