Investors Confirm their Confidence in the Mautic Project

Mautic is the first open source marketing automation software. Last February founder David Hurley managed to raise seed funding of $600,000. Barely six months later, with a strong team now behind him, the company has achieved Series A funding of $5 million.

Webmecanik is the second largest contributor to the software's development. Echoing our reaction to the initial seed funding of $600,000, perhaps some are wondering – how are we welcoming this news? What are the consequences for our customers?

With more contributors, what are the benefits for users?

The success of an open source project is reliant on the community behind it. An increase in the number of active contributors to the Mautic community will result in an increase in the number of new features and functionalities available in future software updates. Further investment in the community only serves to guarantee continuity of the project for everyone.

Webmecanik will continue to test these new versions and develop on an infrastructure to make marketing automation easily available to agencies and enterprises. As a result, our partners should expect an evolution in the number of features at their disposal.

Increased visibility of Mautic, good news for Webmecanik partners!

The means at the disposal of Mautic will increase, allowing them to actively communicate all of the benefits and attract new accounts. More users (currently over 50,000 downloads) means more contribution. More bugs will be discovered faster, addressed by contributors, and ultimately deliver a more robust solution.

We can expect Mautic to invest a part of the funds raised into communication, and consequently, raise awareness about their market position among inbound marketing specialists as a well-priced alternative to the market leaders. Marketing departments that test Mautic will seek experienced partners to accompany them in the implementation of their inbound strategy.
